James Lennox, born in Missoula, MT, is a distinguished figure in the world of healthcare real estate, celebrated for his strategic prowess and innovative leadership. After completing his Bachelor of Science Degree at the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD, in 1985, Lennox furthered his expertise at Harvard Graduate School of Design with the “Leaders in Real Estate” Program in 2006.

Beginning his career in the U.S. Navy as a Naval Officer (1985-1992), Lennox transitioned into the corporate sector, making substantial impacts in the healthcare real estate industry.

James Lennox has accumulated over 25 years of experience in healthcare real estate. He initiated his journey as a Vice President with the Cogdell Group in Charlotte, NC, where he spent 8 years managing a portfolio of 61 MOBs totaling 2.4 million square feet. Subsequently, Lennox transitioned to Trammell Crow, later CBRE, serving as a Managing Director in their corporate services healthcare group for a decade in Richmond, VA. During his time at CBRE, he led significant accounts such as Riverside Health, HCA, and Capital One. In 2017, Lennox embarked on his tenure with Ascension Health in St. Louis, assuming the role of the national real estate leader for their 28 million square foot ambulatory portfolio. This was followed by a similar position at Ardent Health in Nashville, TN, in 2022.

In 2024, Lennox took on the role of Chief Operating Officer at HBRE, bringing his extensive experience and innovative mindset to the forefront of healthcare real estate.

Recognized as a Certified Property Manager (CPM) and Counselor of Real Estate (CRE), Lennox also served as CBRE’s Global Subject Matter Expert for Medical Office Buildings. His professional memberships include the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and The Counselors of Real Estate, as well as a past member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Health and Life Science Council.

Beyond his professional realm, Lennox has been a board member of the Charlotte Down Syndrome Chapter and founder of the Virginia Peninsula Down Syndrome Chapter, reflecting his commitment to community service. His personal interests include history, travel, movies, and reading, which contribute to his well-rounded perspective.
